JOMA Arts & Consulting, LLC was founded in 1998 in the Washington, DC
in the midst of a vibrant cultural environment.  The JOMA Arts Group,
as it was known at that time, was conceived to be a locally based
independent commercial theatrical production company to focus on
serving the nation with its productions.

The principals were John L. Moore, III and Mary(Imani) Drayton-Hill.

By the spring of 2000 the original concept had been expanded and had evolved to become a partnership with three distinct business lines:

Management consulting

Arts presentation and theatrical production.

Facility and arts center creation.

In 2000 JOMA group formed another powerful connection as John Moore was invited to come to Charlotte, NC to become the new executive director of the Afro-American Cultural Center, a showcase for African-American history and culture in the Metrolina area.

John ultimately left the executive director position to focus his
attention on the expansion of the JOMA partnership, and to revitalize
the organization to better serve the broader arts community.
